I've been on TikTok since the covid days and never once did I think about doing this before. But I commented on a stranger's video and said, "Can I take your photo??"
Hear me out.
I'm scrolling and on my FYP this couple pops up reviewing a local restaurant. They are absolutely ADORABLE and I'm mesmerized by their cute little relationship. I like the video and move on.
Then a couple of days later, they pop up again in my feed and I'm just in awe of their interactions with each other. So I comment on that second video. "You guys are adorable!! Can I take your picture??"
And after a little back and forth, they said YES! So we planned a date at the local Braum's. His father had a cute vintage car that we could use, we got a bag of burgers, and the rest is history.
This is one of my favorite sessions I've ever done. Not only were they absolutely the sweetest people ever (he brought me a rose as a thank you!!!), but their vibe just made for the perfect photos. They were funky and kinda retro and absolutely cool, so the photos turned out exactly like I'd hoped.
I will one million percent do this again, ask strangers on the internet to take their photos. Sounds creepy. But so far 10/10 experience.
Here's a few more bc I can't get enough of this sesh.
Also - this is another session where it paid to be planned out.
I knew exactly where we were shooting, what they were wearing, what car they had, what props we'd used, etc.
While I tend to think of myself as the unplanned chaos queen, the results of planned out sessions ALWAYS blow my own expectations out of the water. I am obviously better when I have something on the drawing board.
DO NOT TELL MY ADHD THAT.
I like to think I'm better fly by the seat of my pants.
I'm learning more about myself the older I get.
Shut up.
