PRE-SESSION JITTERS 

What season should I shoot in?

This is a popular dilemma. But each season has its own perks and you can just pick your favorite. I book year round, If you need to get images in time for your school's yearbook, do your session in summer or early fall.

Otherwise, pick your poison:

Summer Pros - tans, summer clothes, wildflower fields, outdoorsy pics

Summer Cons - Oklahoma humidity, sweat, mosquitos/ticks

Fall Pros - cooler weather, pretty trees, Halloween, perfect sunsets

Fall Cons - timing it just right so we don't lose the leaves

Winter Pros - snuggly clothes, boots, dramatic outdoor pics, coffee and cocoa, maybe snow

Winter Cons - dead grass/trees, cold af, maybe snow

Spring Pros - green grass, new flowers blooming, cool but sunny weather, great skies

Spring Cons - rainy season, spiders, timing it just right so we actually have green

My favorite pick? FALL, BABY! Mid October - Mid November is peak awesome IMO

What should I wear?

I can help! I suggest having a VARIETY of options and styles.

Something a little dressy, something super casual, sports/dance stuff, shorts, sweaters....it's all great! Feel free to text me pictures as you're preparing for your session and I can help you pick what may work best. Or bring IT ALL and I'll help pick the day of the sesh.

While you know I love me some drama and quirk, we can still get amazing images with SIMPLE clothes. It's about showcasing your personality more than your style. I can work my magic with any clothing options, I swear. 

What if I'm nervous about my hair/makeup?

TBH same. That is not one of my talents. BUT.....I have a whole team of amazing stylists that I call on for help.  You can add styling on to any of my sessions. I want to help make your photo day as stress-free as possible!

 

DAY OF SESSION ANXIETY

Where will we take the photos?

You don't have to be totally planned out beforehand - I am here to help! I may know locations you don't know about or may be inspired by your outfits. I will find the perfect location to fit the style, colors, and vibe of each session. You can look at my galleries and my insta page (@tastetheworld) for inspo too! 

I have a studio in Tulsa and love traveling around the area to shoot outdoors or at cool locations. We can go anywhere in the area! If you have somewhere specific in mind, let's talk about it! 

How do I pose?

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty awesome at posing you. I guide you through the entire thing, showing you how to pose, how to create flattering looks, and will even tell you what expressions I'm looking for. I gotchu.

What all should I do?

I will help you plan the entire thing. We can either just rumble around town and get great pictures or we can incorporate the things you love. Arts, sports, hobbies, pets, exploring downtown, drinking coffee, reading books, being a hippy, hanging out with your bf/gf/bff, etc, going to Sonic, skateboarding, crocheting hats for your cat....  We don't have to have a "theme" for your shoots, but it's always fun to incorporate things/places that are important to you. There's no pressure on you to totally figure this out beforehand - I'm on it!

Wait. I can bring my dog??

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, DUH. You act like you don't know me. I'm OBSESSED with animals. Bring them all. BRING THEM ALL.

What happens if it rains?

In true Oklahoman form, I live by my radar app. If there's a chance of rain, I'll watch it and will keep you updated on the situation. Always assume we're shooting unless I say otherwise. It's not a big deal to reschedule. Also, clouds and wind are our friends! These make shoots more dynamic and interesting. Sunny days aren't all they're cracked up to be. 

What if I wake up sick or have a family emergency?

I have wiggle room built into my calendar, so we can almost always reschedule quickly (if you booked hair/makeup, they may be a little more tricky to rebook...but it's absolutely doable!). 

If you just forgot or didn't take off work or something? Well, there are dire consequences for that type of thing. I am actually pure evil and will eat your entire family. But otherwise? It's chill. It's fine. It's whatever. 

AFTER THE PHOTOSHOOT PANIC

I'm impatient and wanna see my pics!

Oh, I am THE MOST impatient person. I get it. I will always try to upload a sneak peek on instagram/facebook the night of your session. That way you get a little hit of dopamine. 

Within a couple of days or your session, I'll send you a link so you can book your viewing/ordering session. Most of the time, you'll see everything within a few days. 

Ok but when will I get all of my photos back?

If I'm anything, I'm FAST. 

After your viewing/ordering, I can usually get images edited within a few days. If you just order digitals, you will get everything back that quickly. If you've ordered products, those can sometimes take a week or so to come in. 

Either way, I blow the industry standard out of the water. You won't wait long with TTW. 

What if I procrastinated and need a yearbook pic like yesterday?!

I get this often. I can hurry up and edit a pic for you to get turn in ASAP.  But we need to do your ordering quickly too, so let me know that we're in a rush the day of your session and we'll get you on track.

I've downloaded my images but say my computer crashes or aliens take over and I lose them all. Am I cooked? 

I keep every image I take foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. If anything happens, I will always have it backed up on the cloud.
