You don't have to be graduating or getting married to celebrate yourself with photos. While I work a lot with tweens and teens, I love when I get an adult who is open to a unique, creative themed session.

Say hello to Crystal.

Crystal had been wanting new portraits she could use in her career, but was bored with regular headshots and typical sessions that don't actually show personality.

She said, "Hear me out, I want to do one of your senior portraits sessions."

My senior sessions are big and bold, planned out and with an obvious theme and storytelling. I give locations, make mood boards, give outfit ideas along with color palettes and prop suggestions.

We do all the things and make it an adventure.

I asked her if she had any specific ideas or thoughts for her session. She wasn't sure of details, but said she liked downtown Tulsa and loved the art deco style of our buildings.

I said, "SAY NO MORE."

I booked the Tulsa Club Hotel downtown and started planning our day. I knew I wanted to make it look fun, but also very cool and chic.

I gave her the mood board, which was full of power suits and attitude.

If you know Crystal, you know how adorable and sweet she is. But I wanted to bring out a little more sass with her. And I think it was the perfect balance between sweet lady and badass business person.

After we took photos in the lobby and in the bar, we went outside and did the last outfit out there. It was a continuation of the art deco vibe with our awesome downtown architecture, but a little more playful.

We stayed around the Philtower Building and used our iconic Atlas Life sign.

Little miss "I can't make a serious face" sure did pull out some major SMIZE. :)

I loved doing this session and the photos she ended up with are some of my favorites.
