One of the great things about creating images instead of just 'taking pictures' is that you can make them look almost however you want.

Using lighting and color grading, and choosing the right outfits/locations can make your images appear exactly how you want them to.

With NO AI. *ahem*

Kinsley is (although very silly at times), a very level headed, mature, soulful girl. I wanted to show her vibey side, her more introspective, quiet moments.

My brain immediately went to a beachy, almost vintage, walking the California boardwalk alone type of moment.

As people who are right in the middle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, we didn't quite have a boardwalk to be somber on. So we found the next best thing.....the Arkansas River. lol

It was HOT out. And super bright still (we were going for golden hour, but showed up too early...oops!).

I think it worked out great though because we found a little bit of shade and then just backlit everything else. I didn't actually use any flashes or off-camera flash for this one, just relied on the beautiful sunlight and natural bounce off the surroundings.

I chose this location because at Gathering Place, they have that little space where you can kayak or surf in the artificial rapids. It was perfect. (Though I did have to edit out the PSO plant right behind her in a few. Heh.)

The sidewalk goes right into the water at this point and gave a great place for her to stand and contemplate. It was like she was emerging from her thoughts.

I love the 'just because' sessions.

You don't have to be a high school senior or celebrating something major in order to get great photos of yourself. You will never look back on images like this and think "that was a waste" because you won't be just looking back at what you looked like when you were 11 (or 16, or 23, or 47)....you'll be looking back on the person you were.

When I create sessions, I want to show your soul. Not just a cute pose in a tall field. I want you to look at your images and see YOU.
